A live wedding band for Cincinnati receptions.
A full cover band built from working Cincinnati musicians, with our own sound system and a DJ to keep the floor moving between sets. You get the energy of live music without juggling a band, a sound company, and a DJ separately.
How a band night runs
| Stop | Moment | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Planning call | Your must-play songs, your do-not-play list, the first dance, and the room layout |
| 2 | Load-in | We arrive early, set the stage and the sound, and check levels before guests walk in |
| 3 | Dinner & toasts | Wireless mics for speeches and quieter sets or a curated playlist during dinner |
| 4 | Reception sets | Live sets built to fill the floor, with DJ music between sets so the energy never drops |
| 5 | Last dance | Your send-off song, then we pack out without getting in the way of your venue |
Live band and DJ from one crew
Most couples who want a live wedding band in Cincinnati end up hiring a band, then a DJ for the breaks, then hoping the two talk to each other. Monorail Sound is one crew. The same people who play the sets also run the sound and spin the music in between, so the transitions are clean and nobody is waiting on someone else.
Want a DJ for part of the night instead? Our DJs, Ned and Evan, are both musicians, so a band-plus-DJ split works naturally. See our Cincinnati wedding DJ service.
Songs you actually want to hear
We cover a wide range of songs and we start from your list, not ours. Tell us the songs that matter to you and the ones you never want to hear, and we build the sets around that. Complicated requests are welcome.
Pro sound, because we run a studio
Monorail Sound also runs a recording studio in Madeira, so sound quality is the part we care about most. Vocals sit on top of the mix, toasts are clear at the back of the room, and the volume fits the space instead of overpowering it.
Where we play
We are based in Madeira on the east side of Cincinnati and play weddings across Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Dayton, and Columbus. Ceremony music too: add live ceremony music and the whole day sounds like one plan.
"With a wide range of songs the band covered, to the professional and quality equipment, it felt like we were dealing with the best of the best."
